All 7 of these cygnets have survived. Partly due to careful parenting by the adults and partly due to their daily feed of rice crispies provided by the lady who lives right by the river who consulted the RSPB for advice on what to feed the cygnets. Now if they see people they think a crispy hand out is heading their way and come and investigate.
Rain is not something that anyone living in Britain should really get excited about, however, we have been bereft of rain for quite a while and some precipitation is quite welcome. Well for one day! Raindrops on sweet corn, maize. Raindrops on a poppy. Raindrops on a sunflower. "At the end of a storm is a golden sky", this was the scene this evening.
If you want to serve something extraordinarily healthy and yet delicious, this is the pud for you. You need a ripe avocado and some cocoa powder.
Cut the avocado and discard the shell and stone, then place the avocado in a bowl and smush with some of the cocoa powder. Keep a teaspoon handy for taste testing to make sure you use enough cocoa.
When it is combined you get to choose what you would like to sweeten this with, I used a banana, you have to be careful not to use too much banana, or you get banana flavoured pud, or you could use honey or agave or just icing (confectioners) sugar. Mix then serve. It is like a chocolate mousse and wonderful if chilled. What a great way to eat your avocado.
